Psychopomp is a heady romp through imagined lands, fraught with doom, death, and doodies.
Mercxes Psychopompos
The Pale Rider, Mercxes, is a spirit of the Psychosphere, a field of imagined nonsense that surrounds all the mortal beings of meatspace. As a Psychopomp, Merxces guides the shades of the dead to the rivers of the Damnering, where they are ferried into the Veil of Fog. When he is not Pomping, Merxces has a thousand other jobs that keep him racing around like a manic weasel.
The Pompoverse
-
Every Mortal has their own interior world, a "Marble," secured inside their dome; these Marbles are home to "Wits," sentient spirits whose actions govern the behaviour of the Mortal they inhabit.
-
The Psychosphere surrounds the inner worlds of mortals, extending above the clouds and below the ghastly underworld.
-
Parasite-infested pigeons, parakeets, and parrots rule Cumulocuckoophalia, a kingdom in the clouds home to a thousand "Isms."
-
Demons, devils, ghosts, phantoms, and dragons haunt the lonely passages of the "Damnering," the cold and heartless underworld where mortals dare not tread.
-
A pantheon of self-important deities bicker atop Mt. Celetope, throwing petulant tantrums and inflicting maladies upon mortal marbles.
-
Time is an old man on a bicycle, who rides along The Course of Time. His pace determines the rate of change across the many worlds.
- Goblins, Nymphs, Fairies, and Satyrs revel and make war in the lands beyond sense and sight.
